My pediatrician saw her at 1 week and then once a month for the 1st six months, and then at 9/12/15/18 months. Luckily we did not need any specialist visits until recently. Also check to see how many visits your insurance covers, I know mine did not cover all these visits the first year I paid for 2 out of pocket (around $75 each)

my PEd seen my DD every month from 1 month to 6 months then from 6 months to 12 months it was every other month. Now its every 3 months.
I know the first year I ahd to pay a few out of pocket cuz my insurance didn't cover all the well visits.
