Re: shopping online vs. in store
I always buy stuff at Ann Taylor Loft.com and Banana--because Banana's sells petites on line and not in the store. I also do a lot of holiday shopping online. I have it sent to my mom's house when I buy for DH since he's such a freaking snoop.

Re: shopping online vs. in store
I did half and half so far this year. Maybe a little more actually in the store but smaller stuff. The bigger purchases I did online, I had a lot of catalogs with coupons, deferred billing, free shipping and better prices.

Yes I also use the online stores to preshop, to get an idea of what I want to buy at the stores and search for the best prices.

Re: shopping online vs. in store
Speaking of online shopping, does anyone ever worry about hackers obtaining your personal info. from shopping online?

Re: shopping online vs. in store
I am probably going to do a little of both.
I just bought some Yanuk Jeans on overstock.com!!! I bought them for $64 dollars. I have looked on other websites and this website gave me the best deal.
I also plan on ordering things on bestbuy.com. You can order and pay online and pick it up or have them deliver it.

I don't worry- I've been shopping online for a long time and have never had a problem. However, I now use only credit cards, as opposed to debit because I feel safer- I use one card with a relatively low limit so if someone gets their hands on the number they can't get too far!
Plus, thieves are SO crafty- I know DSW was hacked and card numbers stolen, from the stores and not the site.
Topic- I will do the majority of my shopping online. I did it last year and it was so easy. I was able to get free shipping often too.

I'll do the majority online. I can't stand the lines and crowds, and I usually find better deals online anyway.

I always use a credit card with low limit as well. I also only buy on known business websites. And I just read your post about DSW. I was there this afternoon and couldn't find the credit card that I always use for my purchases right away so I used my debit card....and after I read your post I got a bit worried..... ...I just hope DSW does not have anymore information stolen.....
The DSW incident was well publicized when it happened so they had lots of incentive to fix things, and FAST. I am sure they tightened things up after that, so I am sure you will be fine.

Re: shopping online vs. in store
Depends on the item for me.
If it's clothing, I like to see/touch it before I buy it.
For a DVD or a brand name watch or something that can be purchased ANYWHERE, I'll shop around for the best price and I usually end up buying it online because of the free shipping and no tax.
I haven't bought anything online for this xmas yet - only in-store shopping!
