Re: BFing and sleeping through the night...
I am curious about this too. My DS is four 1/2 months old and still wakes at least once (usually twice, and sometimes three times!!) to nurse.
He goes down at about 7:30, and sleeps to anywhere from 10:30 - 2:30. If he wakes 1am-2am he will sleep until 5 or six, then come in bed with me and possibly sleep until 7 or 8.
If we wakes between 10:30 and 1, he will then wake again between 3 & 5, go back to sleep, and then wake around 6 or 7.
Pretty much its a crapshoot every night. We have the same exact bedtime routine every night. I try to keep his naps at roughly the same times. But I never know what is going to happen when I put him down for the night. Sometimes he seems to get better for a while, and then we take a step back again.

Re: BFing and sleeping through the night...
Not until a little after 6 months. I think it really depends on the baby. My friend's daughter who was EBF didn't sleep through the night until after she was 1.

Re: BFing and sleeping through the night...
Gianna started early. At about 6 weeks she was sleeping 5-6 hour clips, usually from 12-6 to 1-7. Right before her 2 month birthday (4th of july weekend), she slept through from 10pm to 8-9am and has been doing so ever since. She has slept in her crib since she was 2 months, I don't know if that has something to do with it. Our Ped said at her 2 month appt that is not the norm, she is a little mature in the sleeping dept. Hey I'll take it!

Re: BFing and sleeping through the night...
By 5-6 weeks Gabriella was sleeping 6-8 hours, at least.
Gianni was about 7 months when I night weaned him. Still wakes occasionally though.

Re: BFing and sleeping through the night...
MY DD is queen of the power nap! She'll take a couple naps during the day at 15-30 min intervals. I thank god everyday, she can amuse herself and I dont have to hold her or play with her all day long, I would go nuts!
Same with my DD, sometimes she goes down at 11 too, I can't get her to bed any earlier. My MIL is telling me that is bad, she should go down at 8, i am just happy she sleeps, I don't care if she's up with me at 10pm.
I have no clue how to move her bedtime, and I don't want to play with fate!

Re: BFing and sleeping through the night...
DD started sleeping through the night around 5 weeks. And around 3 months she stopped.... first waking up once a nigth at 4:30 and the last few days, waking up at 1:30 also. I think we are going to need to do the dream feed.
