Re: when to switch from level 1 to level 2 nipple?

I did it at around 5 months and I think I could have done it sooner. When they fall asleep taking the bottle because it's taking too long....it's time. Expect some drippage again though since the flow is faster and they have to get used to it

Re: when to switch from level 1 to level 2 nipple?

I did it around 4 mos but probably could have done it sooner. She went from a 45 minute bottle to a 15 minute bottle. Poor baby couldnt get enough out of the level 1 nipples!

Re: when to switch from level 1 to level 2 nipple?

I only switched about a month ago since he was Bf'ing and drinking bottles while I was away and I didn't want him to get confused. The poor kid was almost 16 months old was drinking out of Dr. Brown's stage 1 nipple.

Re: when to switch from level 1 to level 2 nipple?

I kept her at stage one while I was still BFing b/c I wanted her to have to work at the bottle. So I waited until she was weaning to switch her.

she's not falling asleep just yet, but the feeding times are taking foreeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvvver! Chat Icon between boob and bottle it can sometimes take 40 minutes Chat Icon

I'd buy a 3 pack of the level 2 nipples and give it a try. The package says for 3-6 mos, so I think you're ready for them. It made a big difference for DD, she no longer fell asleep trying to drink her bottle.

Re: when to switch from level 1 to level 2 nipple?

I changed to level 2 at 3 months, DS was very fussy with the bottle.
2 weeks ago I had to change to level 3 because he was getting very fussy with the bottle again, he is going to be 6 months tomorrow.
