Yay for Firefly season...ack!
My friend's daughter is over tonight while she catches a yoga class. So the kids are playing - way past their bed time but since they have like 2 hours of real school followed by a 6-7 hour play time at the afterschool, we let it go.
They begged to be let outside so they could collect fireflies. How could I say no?
Joseph came in to ask if we wanted to see the "grand finale of the releasing of the bug collection". He also informed us that they expanded their firefly collection to include months & beetles. (insert a sarcastic "great" here).
They were told to do it AWAY from the house.
Then we heard "Uh oh!"
Yes you got it. While everyone is insisting the screen doors were closed during the "finale", we now have mosquitoes, beetles, moths AND fireflies in our kitchen.
I left them in the kitchen with plastic bats & napkins. At least they are occupied & we have less bugs.

Ugh!!!!!!!!
The boys have been obsessed with worms and flying critters these days - I refuse to let them in the house without a security check first. Rob must go outside and pat them down on the deck and give me the clear sign before they can come back in.

I didn't know fireflies were out already YEAHHHHHHHHH! We have a enormous bug issue too, the babies want the bathroom light on and we seem to have a hole in a screen somewhere, every moth known to man goes in there for the light! I got them out now but now the beetles are flying in when I open and close the door. I guess I have to be grateful its not another nasty bat flying in with the door..hate those nasty things.

I'm cracking up over here! I haven't seen the fireflies by me yet but we were in Greenlawn last night and the kids were catching them left and right.
