YAY Luce's carousel party was a windy success!
I don't know what the God's have in store for me b/c after years of having parties rained on, we had two sunny Saturday's in a row.
it was a bit windy so I couldn't set up the tables the way I wanted to but Luce's Carousel party was a great success!!!!
it was 2 hours and it seemed to be the perfect amount of time. most of the kids went around the carousel at least once (and so did most of the adults  ) and there was a nice grassy field behind us so they just ran around playing soccer and whatever else the rest of the time.
I ditched the cake idea last minute and made cupcakes instead. much easier than I ever thought. vanilla bean with colored vanilla butter cream (though I wasn't in love with this recipe, I am searching for another, the kids liked it) and chocolate fudge cupcakes and chocolate buttercream from the bake of this Ghiradelli unsweetened cocoa can the chocolate buttercream was crazy good. my favorite cupcake was the chocolate on chocolate but it went great with the vanilla bean cupcakes as well.
I finally gave myself a break and ordered pizza for all. it was the best thing I did. the seating is park benching and they only give 2 tables so with the way its' set up, it's really perfect for simple take away food.
I think everyone had a great time and we had a great turn out. without further ado, a few photos...

on Thursday we are going to the Bronx Zoo to see the 'monos' then we are having a family dinner and going to the Red Bulls game. I can't wait!!

First off, he is so adorable!!!
Second, great job! I love that you went easy on yourself and it turned out great! I'm thinking of something easy for DS' 2nd birthday too, lol. The less stress, the better.

Glad to hear everything went well! Everything looks great. And for DDs party, I also went the pizza route and it was definitely the best decision! Yay for two year olds!!
