Yay or Nay for BIL's Wedding? Updated w/ new dress -
I can not find a gown that I like that isn't WAY over the top ........what do you think of these?
I'm hourglass, so I need something w/ a defined waist -

I really like them both. #1 more so for a late afternoon or early evening wedding, and #2 for an evening nicer wedding.

I ran up to L&T on 5th yesterday - BOTH ARE TERRIBLE in person. I didn't even bother to try them on
The lace is awful - and they are not cheap (inexpensive)
I mean, they're not $2k, but they're not $150 either !!

I like #2, but sometimes with lace its best to see in person. If it's too rough looking it could look cheap.

The last two dresses I bought came from Nordstrom.
If you order online, they have free shipping.

I like #2! The first one is really nice, too, but I don't like the see through stripes on the bottom of the skirt.

Nothing in WHBM was 'fancy' enough - it was all cotton - very cute stuff, but not saturday night wedding.
The pink one in person looked a bit casual too .......
I ordered a Calvin Klein gown from Zappos (b/c they didn't have my size @ Nordstrom) - comes tomorrow, we'll see how that goes.
Ordered it in Red and Black .......
If not, back to square 1
I am in love w/ a navy tadashi shoji, but it's $700.
I don't want to spend that kind of money - I always want to look fab, but a $700 dress is totally lost on DH's side of the family - Kind of a waste to spend that when no one is going to appreciate it but me, and the bride !! I know it sounds stupid, but I'd prefer to sepnd that on new shoes!

I really like the new dress. It just depends on how it fits, but we'll see. Which Tadashi? I looooooooooooooove their dresses and regularly swoon over them, but they are so expensive. I *tried* to buy one on RueLaLa.com but it sold out before I could click!  I'm STILL sad about that dress.

Love that dress! I just saw this one on White House Black Market's site. I don't know if it is too much for you. But it's another option that is really unique.

The red CK dress actually looks pretty good.
I think I am going to keep it. -
Of course, it needs a serious hem, and I need some serious spanx .....but otherwise, I like it. - it's very plain, but very red .....so it works.
Now to find shoes .......
I DID say that Black dress in WHBM, but I'm only 5'2" and even w/ sky high heels, it just seemed to be too much for me .......
