Yay or nay? Re: bday party
DDs bday is August and DS bday is in october. Is it tacky to have a joint bday party for them in September? It just seems silly to have 2 parties when its the same ppl invited to both. By the time i finsh DDs party id be sending out invites to DS party.

Yay or nay? Re: bday party
I think if they are young it wouldn't matter, but if they are old enough to "get it" I think I would do separate birthdays.

I say separate but I do separate parties for my kids whose birthdays are just one day apart.

Re: Yay or nay? Re: bday party
My parents did this with my brother and I growing up. He is June and I am August. The party was usually in July. We never questioned it. It was always normal to us and we always had a blast.

Yay or nay? Re: bday party
It's not silly at all! Much easier to just to have one party.

Re: Yay or nay? Re: bday party
My DS' are end of August and early October and I personally wouldn't have a joint party for them in September. And they are both boys. They should each get the opportunity to have a party where they are being celebrated. If the birthdays were super close (within days or a week) I could see doing it but in different months, no.

Yay or nay? Re: bday party
I say do whatever you and your husband want. If they're still little, why not. Maybe when they are older and have their own friends and interests you can have separate.

Yay or nay? Re: bday party
Not silly at all, we just went to a joint birthday party. Both kids are young 2 and 4 so NBD IMO.

Yay or nay? Re: bday party
For family yes I would do the same thing. As they get older, and have their own friends, I would say no or have a joint family party and then a small individual party for friends for each of them.

Yay or nay? Re: bday party
There are only 6 weeks between DS and DD birthdays and i am doing seperate as they both deserve their own day. But if it suits you better then go for it.

Re: Yay or nay? Re: bday party
My kids are also August and September b-days. When they were 2 and 4 I had a combo birthday party because it was the year my brother was getting married and he and his wife had to have multiple events (3 showers), etc. for their wedding. That left me with one weekend available for my kids birthday party.

I think if you are having a big party for both, and you can have a special day family party for each.

ITA. Maybe if their birthdays were in the same month, you could get away with it. But, it's two separate months, I'd give two separate parties.

Yay or nay? Re: bday party
I say go for it! We are currently planning DS's birthday party and it's expensive. I would combined if there were 2 of them.
