Wait, she invited you knowing you can't attend?? That's a total gift grab. It's weird for her to even invite you in the first place even if you were attending because it's her SISTER not her daughter. So weird. Who invites a coworker to a sibling's event?? $25 cash is more than generous considering you've never met her.

i then, after about a week, realized i couldn't attend. i just stated it as a fact that my not attending would be putting her out my plate.
Ok, I thought that was pretty ballsy to invite you if she knew you couldn't go lol you'd be surprised but I know people who've done that just for a gift . My favorite is when they invite out of towners knowing full well they can't attend just so they get a check in the mail.
