I didn't have one of those, but I did have one of those "Best Friends" charms that split in two and you gave the other half to your friend.

OMG I had at least 3 or 4 of those charm holders.
I also had 3 of those BFF heart charms that you break in half. There was a group of 4 of us BFF's and no one wanted to hurt anyone's feelings, so we all had 3 BFF charms
