I know its early and I couldn't find anything on a search for this location but does anyone have information on it for camp? Pros / cons?
I have to send my 5 year old this summer and wanted to start a search. T.I.A.

I looked into it, but heard from a couple of people that the counselors are not attentive at all. That they pretty much socialize amongst themselves, text, etc.

I'm not sure where you live, but Camp Greenbrook off Route 112 in the Coram area is great. I believe they are a vendor on here. It's a smaller camp, and the price is VERY reasonable. They offer swimming lessons, karate, mini golf, theme days, etc. My son went and he loved it. They are family owned and really nice people.

Re: YMCA Brookhaven - holtsville location - camp...
I sent my son here 2 summers ago and he hated it. he said that he and some of the other yonger children (he was 5, turing 6 at the time) were teased and pushed around by the older children. the counslers did nothing to stop the bullying that was occuring, despite the children complaining to them. i did call numerous times, but nothing was ever done.
I will say that the Swimming Instructors were great. That was the only part that my son did like about this camp.

Do you know how much they charge? I am in the process of camp too and like to see if there is anything cheaper than what I do now. Thanks

I really can't remember off hand, but I think it was around $200 a week if you did the entire Summer. They also usually run a special with free before/aftercare if you register by a certain date. Their typical hours for full day are 9-4, and I think the before/after was 7am and until 6pm. They are good about faxing over info or sending it in the mail if you want to see it.
Here is their website
http://www.lichildcare.com/
My daughter attended nursery school there as well, and I really loved it

Thanks for the info. I pay $132/week so it is a little bit more.
