Re: yoga
I have never tried zumba, but I go to hot yoga 3x a week and I absolutely love it.
It is a class that is geared to any level, but they really focus on beginners the most. It is always the same 26 postures in the same order every time you go.
I am NOT by any means a "yoga rockstar" type either. I will be practicing for 2 years this February, and there are still several postures I struggle with greatly and never fully get into.
I am not going to lie.........it was very intimadating in the beginning, especially because I had never really done any kind of yoga before in a studio.
After a few weeks though I started to feel very much at ease.
A lot of it is realizing that no one cares or is looking at you.
Where I practice, there are so many different types of people who go too.........young, old, short, fat, males, females, gay, straight, colored hair, different cultures, you name it.........
I always tell people that it's worthwhile to at least check out the special. It's $20.00 for all new students for 10 consecutive days of unlimited hot yoga. Even if you go for half that time, it will give you an idea of it's something you want to stick with.
My biggest pieces of advice if you decide to do it, is to not judge the practice by your first couple of classes, hydrate well (and from the day before you first go!), and don't listen to anyone who may have only been to one class and walked out.
I've seen MANY do this. People who look totally trim and fit.
Oh, and don't forget to breathe!!!!

i echo all of what mzsocial said. i lost a lot of weight doing hot yoga, feel amazing after, slept better, less muscle aches, u name it. it's tough, i won't lie but once you get into the groove, it's life changing. be sure to go to a bikram studio.
