You hard working Sept Mommies.. times growing short

Have you noticed? It’s July 16. I know my expected leave date is Aug 22 (as last day)

Doc says they expect me home MUCH earlier (whatever that means) and they don’t want me commuting into the city when its extra extra hot because of dehydration, cramps and mild contractions.

Still, I look at my desk and my workload and well Chat Icon Chat Icon !!

I'm trying so hard to be up to date.

Then (and here’s stupid for ya) I volunteered for some contract work on behalf of my company (insurance broker) where I work two days a week on location at one of my client’s offices. I think its kinda nice to get away from the regular grind and it’s actually closer walk than my job is so its easier on me.

But with the two days there and three days at my office, I feel like I’m always behind and I already feel behind to begin with. I’m like the hamster with the wheel constantly moving but making no progress.

So.. anyone else feeling pressure to get their work stuff all settled… Time feels like its slipping away…

Nothing for me to be keeping up on.

One of my co-workers told our manager that her DH's job is transferring him. She doesnt have an official date but it will be within the next month. I said to my manager oh boy you're really screwed come Septemebr. He said I know, please dont remind me Chat Icon

Then he asked me on when my last day for leave would be and how much time I was taking. I told him I dont have an official date yet, I have a doctors appt on Tuesday and hopefully would be able to get some idea of when to go on leave. He asked me how much time I was going to take. I told him well FMLA gives me 6 weeks and I can apply for an extension of 6 weeks which I will. He said ok just to let him know what my final plans are and he supports whatever decision I make.

I am hoping for Aug 22 to be my last day.

Well I am Oct. 1st, but I know what you mean. My last FT day is Aug 22nd, but then I will still be going in once a week. I don't have a workload that will pile up as I work in the hospital so I'm really looking foward to going out on leave! Plus I have 2 hernias that are screaming for me to stop working on my feet!!

Re: You hard working Sept Mommies.. times growing short

I'm a teacher and have been off since the beginning of June...I go back to work on Aug 18th...So I will be back for at least 3 weeks...then gone again.

Only thing I have to worry about is getting the new teacher I will be working with up to speed on our program...hopefully I can do that in the little time I will have...she is kinda paranoidChat Icon

For those of you leaving around Aug 22 (seems a popular date)

Have your doctors told you that you may have to leave earlier?

Mine did .. due to the heat and the distance I am from work (Huntington to WFC/Lower Manhattan)

I feel for you guys. I'm lucky because I am a teacher so since school ended in June I have nothing to do but relax and wait for the baby to arrive and I'm not returning at all to school so I don't feel stressed at all. Good luck to all of you guys.........it must be very hard dealing with work now as we get further along!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

My last day is Aug. 26th. I am due Sept. 12th. I live in PA and commute to NYC everyday by bus. I am getting so tired of it. I can get out sooner but I think i will be ok up until that point. I hope.

My original plan was to work until I pop, but with this heat and humidity and my evergrowing waistline, I am debating cutting out a bit early. My job is to be on the road, so lets see if I fit behind a wheel come sept!Chat Icon
