You know what I find amazing?
Watching Alex learn to communicate is just amazing, it really is. That, and her imaginary play - I could never, ever grow bored of just watching her endlessly as she learns new things, mimics everything we do, and picks up new words everday.
But, what truly amazed me, what made me stop in my tracks, was watching her communicate with her little friends yesterday after school. It's one thing that she's starting to talk and has these awesome little soliloqueys with herself, or me or DH, but wholly another to watch her have a CONVERSATION with another 2 year old!
The conversation:
Alex pulls her snacks out of her bag - there's a bag of fishies and a bag of cereal. Avery runs over.
Alex: Avery, you want some?
Avery: Yes please!
Alex: You want fishes or cereal?
Avery: Fishies
Alex: Ok, TWO fishies. (she proceeds to give Avery 2 fishies).
Avery: Thank you
Alex: You're welcome
