You know who I felt extremely bad for today..
the Mailman!! Looking at him covered in sweat made me want to give him his usual Christmas bonus today!!!
I took most of the day off, it was way too hot and my late afternoon kid I see, his daycare ha NO A/C, which i find unbelievable. There is an ozone alert and children and elderly are most vulnerable, yet this daycar which is an old house is open. I just don't get how this is allowed!!I had to go to the doctor earlier and was feeling a little flushed from giving blood so standing in a 120 degree house just was not in my cards.
Hope everyone stays cool!!!

My mom use to give her mailman a cold rag to put on his neck, he would return it the next day, then need another one! I do feel bad for them, I dont know how they do it.

Hugs and Thanks to him. I agree, there should be a certain temperature cut off that they should allow them off. I could have waiting for my bills and junk mail til tomorrow. There is an ozone alert, which means it is dangerous and seriously, they are putting them in harms way, as are so many other companies. And some of these mailmen are older, which makes it even worse for them. If I were home when my mailman came today i would have handed him some bottled water.

This makes me want to run out and give my mailman an ice cold bottle of water tomorrow.
We should all do this. Anyone want to join me?

Re: You know who I felt extremely bad for today..
My dad was a mailman and just retired in March. I remember how bad it was last summer and I always wanted to help him keep cool. Dad always had a huge thermos of water and since he delivered to my parents' neighborhood, he would stop in the house if he needed ice or something.
If it isn't snow and ice it is heat and humidity. I feel bad for the mailmen whenever the weather is bad.
