You know you're sick when.....

Your DC picks up something you don't want them playing with and in the end - you LET them win because it's just so much easier! Here is how my attempt to take a bottle of hand cream away from Victoria went last night:


Mommy (lying on the couch with chills) -"Victoria - mommy doesn't want you to play with that. Please bring it to me"

Victoria - turns towards me - gives me a big cheesy smile and turns away from me


Mommy - "Little Miss - mommy asked that you please bring that to me because you shouldn't have it"

Victoria - starts barking like a dog at me


Mommy - "Victoria - mommy really doesn't feel well so could you please bring it over to me?"

Victoria - starts laughing and rolling around on the floor as if to say - yeah right Mom! This is WAY too much fun!

Mommy - "Victoria - mommy doesn't want to say this again - now please be a good girl and bring that to me"

And Victoria's response was "TTTTTTTHHHHHHHPPPPPPPTTTTTT' and stuck her butt up in the air at me.


So I looked at her, laughed and ended up giving up! I had no strength to continue and see what else this child would do to mock me

Usually the next step would be to run into the next room laughing all the way! My DD is the queen of this

Victoria is just too cute! Benjamin does the same thing when we ask him to not play with something he shouldn't have. Lately he'll either run away laughing or run under the kitchen table because he thinks we can't get to him there.

Been there, done that..I believe I left my kids with syrup & whipped cream the last time I was that sick.

Yup, I let DS play with the remote control while I was sick recently. He was happy, and I was not bothered. He also watched way too much TV.

And I can sypmathize -- I was sick over the weekend (thankfully it only lasted 2 days!!) My DS was taking the spices out of the cabinet and putting them on the ottoman. I asked him about 5 times to stop but he thought it was the funniest thing ever Ididn't have the strength or energy to get up and stop -- so I let him do it! Til DH came home and made him stop!
