You would not believe what I saw yesterday...
So, DH and I are in Williamsburg, VA away for the weekend and we were at the outlets here yesterday.
We are walking and I notice this pregnant woman-- and thought, oh she's cute-- has a cute belly, and looks like she is all belly. I think, "b!tch". 
Anyway, we turn around to walk back the other way, and I see her again and she's got something in her mouth. I thought, no-- that can't be a cigarette, it must be a straw or something.
As I get closer, it is in fact a cigarette-- looked like a 100 or something so it was long, and she is FULLY SMOKING!!!!!!!!!!!
I was SHOCKED!!!! It looked like she had another kid, and even her mother with her. I can't believe if you are that addicted and can't quit-- you would just even smoke so nonchalantly in public like that-- like it was no big deal at all.
Ugh, I could not believe it. I have never in my life seen that..

I think it's a selfish thing to do when you're pregnant.

I admit- my reaction would also be   .
That said, YEARS ago (early 90s), I had a colleague who was SO addicted to nicotine that her OB OKed her to have 2 cigarettes a day. It was horrible to see her puffing away, but apparently the withdrawal was more damaging to the baby than the actual cigarettes.
I will say though- even if I HAD to puff- I certainly wouldn't do it in public....

Even if I did smoke while pregnant, I think I would do it in the privacy of my own home or at the very least, my car. I wouldn't want people giving me dirty looks and such. DH asked me to go by the liquor store near my Mom's house to pick him up a bottle of bourbon (it's cheaper by my Mom) and I was mortified, absolutely mortified.

See- now THIS I would do with RELISH. And anyone who DARED say anything to me would get a kick in the shins for being stupid.
Actually, I did this yesterday (sans shin-kicking). I had to pick up a 12 pack and a bottle of wine for a BBQ I was going to. I am VERY obviously pg and really got a kick out of the cashier's face when I plunked down the goods.
