DS went to daycare that has a preschool.
I would bring a change of clothes or put them in a back-pack. If space is limited - bring PJ's (they are smaller) - make sure to bring snacks.
If DC hasn't been to a preschool/daycare before, maybe tuck a picture or favorite LITTLE toy in his bag/coat.
When DS was about 15-18 months he used to cry when I dropped him off. If I brought him a snack, he would eat it and not pay any attention to me.
I would also call the school to see what they say.

My DD has only been home with me and loved preschool from our first visit there. Just pack extra clothes and have your child take a small favorite toy (that you can part with if it gets lost that is).
Is your DS excited to go?

soooooooooooo excited.
yesterday he told me, "mommy, i have no friends to come to my birthday party beciase I'm not in preschool." So today I went, met the teacher, and signed him up.
he's watched by my parents, but he is turning 4 soon.
I'm more nervous.

DS was a stay at home child. He was happy to be at school on his first day. Then he started crying an hour into it. He cried on/off for 2-3 weeks. Now he loves going to school and is thriving. He loves going to school and seeing his friends everyday.
