Your Daughter's Closet please share some pics and tips
My son's closet is basically for storage because he has a large armoire for all his shirts and dress clothes but my soon to be DD will not have an armoire she will have her closet and her changer/ dresser for storage. Her room is a bit smaller and we are keeping a queen mattress in there as well since we are losing our guest room and well Dh doesn't do well with a newborn in a packnplay in our room so if I need to crash in her room the first few weeks it is perfect.
But as of right now the closet is very basic and has only one long row now I know for a girl I need more but since girls has tons more shoes, bows, and all types of things in general I could really use some tips on how to reorganize it and pictures on what worked and didn't work for you. Please help!
I only have days left with Dh to put him to work since he is leaving again soon and by time he is back I'll either be holding our daughter or probably in labor..
Thank you so much!!

Hey Laurie!
Well I don't have a baby but I do have storage issues! I find one long rack OK but it is a PITA to hang everything. I would go to Walmart or whatever and buy one of the wire rack shelving systems-they have all different options but I would definitely do shelving on one side an do two rows of hanging on the other rather than one long one. Another option is to but the soft sided shelving that wraps around the pole with velcro

Re: Your Daughter's Closet please share some pics and tips
No pics, but Sarah's closet has a double rod and I store her shoes in the shoeboxes on the shelf. Hairclips go on a holder I made with a padded hanger that I sewed ribbons onto. Ponytail holders go into a bead organizer box I got at Michael's. I keep that and her headbands in one of the drawers of her dresser.
I also used to keep a rubbermaid bin in the bottom where I had the next size up of clothes so that it was easy to get to for those seemingly overnight growth spurts.
HTH!

I also use Rubbermaid containers. I put outgrown clothes in there, or clothes that she hasn't worn yet.

yep, we do the same with DD's clothes.... We keep all of her hair stuff in a draw of her dresser in a little beaded jewerly box type thingy...it has little compartments for hair ties, bows, etc.
good luck!

Re: Your Daughter's Closet please share some pics and tips
I will take pics of mine when it's finished. My DD has a very small closet and when we did CAC install last year they had to run 2 ducts through the back of her closet. I have double rods on one side and on the other, in front of the ducts, I purchased those storage pieces that you can stack at Target. She will have a 15 cubby shoe section, then lots of shelves on top - at least 8 shelves. If we could go deeper I might have done drawers but those ducts take up about 8 or 9 inches in the back. Pics will make it all clear but Im not done yet.

I have pics of my sons closet - does that count?
This was before he was born. Right now I can barely make room for a hanger there - he has so many clothes. I am a shopaholic!!
ETA: I love the bins. In them I have shoes, hats, burp cloths, bibs, towels and washcloths, soaps and medications.
ETA Again: We bought this organizer from Home Depot and it was SO SIMPLE to put together.

Re: Your Daughter's Closet please share some pics and tips
I don't have pics but its a mess right now anyway. I have her toy box on the floor of her closet since her room is only 8 x 10 and with a crib, dresser/changing table and a rocking chair, there is NO room left. Then I only have one rod but there are 4 shelves on the left side. I have 3 baskets in there, one for shoes, one for hats, and one for clothes that no longer fit and I haven't packed away yet. Then on the top shelf I have extra blankets and stuff. The rod holds jackets, dresses, and new clothes. The rest goes in her dresser. The top drawer of her dresser I put dividers and have socks, stockings, onesies, diapers, and in an old wipe container is all of her clips & ponytails. Good luck.

Re: Your Daughter's Closet please share some pics and tips
There is no closet in my DD's room. Why? Because our landlord had her room as their dining room so they closed off the closet and extended the one next to her room. She has an armoire, and the pics are in my album. Eventually she is going to need a closet.....

Re: Your Daughter's Closet please share some pics and tips
We have small single door closet in DD's room. I really only hang dresses, and things that are the next size up or dressy clothes. Everything else is folded in the dressers. I have pics of her furniture in my album. I find it easier for her everyday clothes to be folded, rather than hung.
ETA: For things that she outgrows...I keep my favorite outfits (hopefully to pass onto my sister one day) and everything else I donate. I have 1 big rubbermaid tub for the stuff I'm keeping.
