your experience with bob's furniture?
we just got an accepted offer and are starting to look at furniture for the house. we're looking for a bedroom set, end tables and a kitchen table. what is your experience with their furniture? the prices are really great so im wondering if it's crappy quality? we pulled open some drawers for the bedroom sets and they seems a little flimsy.. do you think it's just the floor models? thanks so much guys!

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
we just got our bedroom set from there about 3 weeks ago. It is a nice set but I do NOT think it is good queality. We spent a lot of money ay Ashley furniture on dining room set and living room set so we wanted to go a little cheaper for the bedroom. The reason Bob's is cheaper is because they use cheaper material and anyone who has furniture from another store should be able to see that the quality doesn't come close to comparing to big name furniture stores. I see it as you get what you pay for.

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
we got our dining room set from bobs. it's been good to us so far (we've only had it since early june).
we got our br set from raymour flannigan and our couches from ashleys.
we had no problems w/ delivery- one of the chairs was damaged in the factory, so they called me b4 the delivery to let me know and to schedule another delivery date for the remaining chair.

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
Our bedroom set & dining room set are from there. The furniture is definitely not high quality - we have tons of knicks & scratches on our bed, 1 nightstand and dresser. Plus, the chairs in our dining room look like crap now. I think if we had gone with a lighter color wood - I wouldn't have all these issues - but since it's a darker color, you notice every single imperfection.

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
We bought our leather couch and loveseat plus an entertainment center, 2 end tables and a coffee table from Bob's and we didn't have any problems with them at all and the couches are holding up great- we have had them for almost 2 years now.
I didn't buy my bedroom set from there though because the quality definitely didn't seem as good as Raymour and Flanagain and a couple of other stores.

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
My uncle works for them. The reason why Bob's is cheaper is because they buy in bulk, pay cash and remove the brand names (even though it is brand name products). They are also very selective with the products they sell.
I don't have any products myself so I can't speak from experience but he's coming down to open the Carle Place store and I can't wait because I am finally going to furnish my den.

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
Congratulations on your new home!
We have a few pieces from Bob's...
Our wood TV console is great, as is our glass sofa table - I love them.
Our living room (coffee & 2 end) tables are good so far - we've had them for over a year now & they're holding up great.
Our leather couches, however...not so great. They are comfy, but the quality compared to our Natuzzi leather sofa is really poor. We've only had them for a year & the leather is starting to crack/WEAR OFF in a few spots! It looks awful My brother also had a Bob's leather sofa & is starting to see the same thing. I won't buy another sofa from them in the future...HTH!

We bought our couch and chair for our den from Bob's, and are very happy with both. The delivery was the best that I have dealt with so far.
In all honesty, I probably wouldn't buy bedroom furniture from them. For me, bedroom furniture is a lifetime thing, and from everything I've read, it doesn't sound like theirs is high quality. That's just my personal feeling though, b/c bedroom furniture was one of those things that we really splurged on.

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
we got our dining room table and coffee table and end tables from them. coffee table is ok. it is made of a flimsy wood on the edge and broke. we will get it fixed before we move.
i think the stuff is great. i would like to get bedroom furniture bet am not ready to get the whole set. our dining room table is discontinued so i am afraid if i buy pieces of a bedroom set, i won't be able to get more 6 months later.

We got our bedroom furniture with them....LOVE it. Very affordable, customer service is GREAT to deal with, and we also got the protection plan with is awesome! The fix any scratches, knicks, breaks, etc. and if they can't fix it, the replace the whole piece with a brand new one.

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
we just got our bedroom set and dining room set from BOBs....
the quality is much better than the show room bc 8 million people havent used it and such.......
i think every thing is great, looks great and we got the "goof-proof" warranty and a day or so after delivery i notice a mark in the dresser, called them up, scheduled a day for the furniture tech to come and he fixed it like new
i know we have not had this stuff long but so far i love it and everyone complements us on it and is soooooo surprised when we tell them its from BOBs..........i also need to add that i feel anything can last as long as you take care of it and anything can break if you dont

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
With furniture- you definitely get what you pay for... Bobs is great for low priced furniture- but it isn't meant to last- and it won't. I have a couch/loveseat set from them and don't anticipate it to get us more than 3 years- through the time DCs are young and messy- then we can step up to something of better quality.
For something like bedroom furniture (especially dressers) and a kitchen table- I would spend more money and get something that is solid wood.... not something from bobs which is a combo of engineered (man made wood) and laminates.
I think the drawer bottoms on bob's furniture is espeically thin- so if you were to overload w/ sweaters, jeans, etc- the bottoms could fall down or the tracks could maybe stop working properly.
You can get a bedroom set hand made (dresser, night tables, headboard) for $2500- and while it seems expensive, ti will last you for LIFE! Same w/ a kitchen table- you might even be better served getting something from second hand that's solid.
I have a 20 year old used kitchen table with a leaf that is 5/4 solid oak on a trestle base- you couldn't mess that thing up if you wanted to.

That's because bob's leather is bonded leather- not normal cowhide leather.
Bonded leather is actually similar to composite or engineered wood in that small remnant pieces of leather are all mashed and rolled together to create a newer piece of leather- and then dyed.. it's not like it is a big piece coming off a cowhide.
The reason I know this is I used to sell promotional products and the less expensive leather bound journals were always bonded leather.

THANK YOU! I've been wondering what the heck was going on...the leather was obviously different than on our "good sofa," but we were hoping to get at least 5 years out of it...the way things are looking I don't think we'll be so lucky though...and we didn't get their "goof" plan so now we're stuck. Oh well - we'll try to make it through the toddler years before buying something better again. Thanks!

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
We bought a loveseat from them and while I like it, I don't think the quality is all that great. The salespeople were very nice and delivery was fast and easy.
I have a friend who bought an entire living room set and one of the seats broke and Bob's replaced it with no questions asked.

Re: your experience with bob's furniture?
I have living room couches and a bedroom set (for almost two years), they are definitely not going to last for years and years, but the quality is decent and the price is right, especially when you have little ones.
