IMO St.Augustine FL. It is a two hour direct flight from Islip to Jax.
I love St. Augustine, the town, the beaches, it's just so beautiful.
Shopping on St. George Street, hanging out at Beachcomber on A street, have a beer at A1A, going to regae Sunday at the Conch House, I can go on.

Re: Your favorite 3/4 day getaways
Know how I know I've been teaching fractions...
I read that as three-fourths of a day...
I was like, why would someone take a vacation for 3 fourths of a day?
Maybe Williamsburg, Ocean City, Cape May...

Miami
Dh came back from visiting his brother in FL and really loved St. Augustine. He said it would be a great weekend trip.

Re: Your favorite 3/4 day getaways
I absolutely loved Montreal and can't wait to go back. I hear Quebec City is even better!
Philadelphia was fun - I would have liked another day there (we spent 3).
Washington DC & Boston are always fun and jam packed with things to do.
Cape Cod & Nantucket are relaxing getaways.
I would love to go to Nova Scotia...

Not a teacher, but I thought the same thing...LOL
For 3 days, I would go to DC, Boston, Poconos, Mystic, Atlantic City, Ocean City, Hershey, Lancaster
For 4 days, I would go to Vegas, New Orleans, Key West, Orlando, Charleston, Chicago
