Re: your favorite leap frog DVD's & other learning tools
I've been looking into this as well. I don't know about DVDS, but "other learning tools" is up my alley
I've been reading a lot about the Montessori method for teaching toddlers letters, numbers, logic, focus, etc.. Look into it, if you have time, a lot is written of it. But here are some of the toys I'll be getting for DS.
for letters/words:
Mellisa and Doug See and Spell (I already started these at 10m - right now he just really likes taking them out, and he likes it when show him the sign for the objects, he tries to copy me, and read it with signs)
for shapes:
Mellisa and Doug Pattern Blocks
for numbers/counting:
Tumble Down Counting Pegs
eta: some of these have smaller pieces, DS is under really close supervision, and the really tiny pieces I take out and ignore.

Re: your favorite leap frog DVD's & other learning tools
I have the Leap Frog alphabet phonics thing for the fridge, and a laptop (leaptop). The rest are M&D puzzles and other educational puzzles and toys
I bought the LP Letter Factory DVD....DD watched it for about 2 mins....she's not really into dvds/tv, so maybe in the future she'll watch it? (she's 18 months now). But it was highly recommended on here and on amazon

Letter Factory DVD. Ryan asked to watch this a few times a day and within 3 days he had learned the sound of every letter. (They only do the basic sound - not hard 'a' etc) I'd say we got it when he was around 3.
