You're Wearing THAT?
I just have to recommend this book. It's written by Deborah Tannen, and it's a non-fiction account of how mothers and daughters communicate and ways to improve that communication. I can't stop nodding while I'm reading this because while I am very close to my mom, there are days when everything she says is annoying for some reason. It's ALL in here.

Deborah Tannen has also written a book You Just Don't Understand (I think that's the title). It's about men and women in conversation. My freshman English teacher made us read it and I loved it.

That's a good one, too. I teach one of her essays ("There Is No Unmarked Woman") in my AP class. She's wonderful.
