Yup, ANOTHER prenatal ? lol
I can't seem to make a decision here. I went to fill the prescription for my Rx prenatals and they came to $70.00 for 90 pills. I think that sounds like a lot, right??
Now, I saw a few different OTC vitamins, but was lost as to which ones to get.
I know that I should look for one with at least 1,000mcg of folic acid and have been reading about DHA, but am not sure what that is.
Can anyone help me find an OTC brand that has that much folic acid and this DHA stuff, if necessary.
Also, are there other supplements to take besides this vitamin? If all goes well and I can find one to get, you'll NEVER hear about this from me again lol Thanks ladies...I just want to do the right thing now.

Re: Yup, ANOTHER prenatal ? lol
The only reason I took Rx prenatals was becuase it was actually cheaper than the OTC with my insurance. That said, my OB told me to take any OTC prenatal, but to also take "Expecta". They sell it at any pharmacy, I've also seem it at Target, BRU, and Motherhood Maternity. It's an added supplement with DHA.

IMAGE Thanks for your info. I just looked it up and it seems like there is another supplement that is needed WITH it, look:
Expecta Expecta Lipil is a non-prescription supplement that is meant to be used in addition to a prenatal vitamin. This eMedTV page explains how Expecta Lipil is beneficial to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, describes possible side effects, and more.
I wonder what that means?

I took otc ones from walmart and my dr gave me a huge sample pack of the expecta. He told me to do the otc because it was a lot cheaper than the prescrip.

I'm taking Rainbow Light One prenatals.
They are gentle on the stomach and "all natural."
