Re: Zit Cream?
my doctor said proactive is fine. You can use things that have benzoil peroxide as the main ingredient - but stay away from things that have salyicic acid (sp?)

Re: Zit Cream?
Proactiv is safe, anything made with benzoyl peroxide you can use while pg.
It's the Retinol-A, Q-10, and salytic acid you CAN'T use during pg.
I used Proactive my whole pg, otherwise i would have looked like a pimple faced 13 year old going through puberty.

Re: Zit Cream?
I use proactiv as well. I use the face wash and toner daily but the repair lotion once in awhile. It containes benzoyl peroxide which my dr's say are fine. The ingredients aren't much different from most face washes.

Re: Zit Cream?
my doctor was okay with both proactiv and salicyclic acid. I had switched from Proactive to the Clinique system (the toner contains salicyclic acid) and my doctor was 100% fine with it.

Re: Zit Cream?
This is so confusing..... I was under te asumption that benzoyl peroxide is listed as a class C drug- which is considered a no-no.....
I have found this website very helpfulSafe Fetus
And here is the benzoyl peroxide listing:benzoyl peroxide

Re: Zit Cream?
Yeh but it says no conclusive studies have been done. Honestly, our parents didn't know half this ****. My mom smoked when she was pregnant with me and I turned out fine. It is ok to be concerned and not want to harm your baby but some of this info out there (which I think there is too much of) can drive you crazy between the cheese, tuna fish, face wash, hair dye, sleeping position, etc. I have never heard a story where someone can say my baby was deformed or something was wrong with my baby b/c I ate tuna fish or b/c I slept on my back instead of my left side.
The same ingredients are in almost all face washes. We just never though to pay attention to them before hand. Their is harsh "chemicals' in antibacterial soaps and hand creams and also household cleaners and people still use them. The little bit of peroxide that may be in your face wash I honeslty dont think is going to harm a baby.
