Zoom therapy
How many of your kids get therapy via Zoom or Google Meets, etc. ? So far my son has only been getting his BIS services (its 3-4 mornings a week for 90 min each!) via zoom but I was fine with the other therapists (speech OT and PT) just emailing me tips as I am also working from home. Now that school is closed for the remainder of the year, and most likely the summer, I kind of feel like I should be trying to fit in at least speech but I'm just having trouble trying to fit it in within my day and then I feel guilty... I just can't believe this is still all happening.

Re: Zoom therapy
My son gets speech, PT, and OT all Zoom. Honestly it’s a lot, but I can’t lie. I see small skills emerging and I will take anything at this point. If anything it gives him some semblance of a schedule. He also has daily morning meeting via zoom with his teacher and class (whoever can make it). His teacher also sends work for the week broken down by day, with links to go to online and a couple worksheets to print.
This is while DH and I work remotely and our other 2 kids are on google classroom (they are in 3rd grade). Some days I want to rip my hair out!

Zoom therapy
We do speech, PT, and OT all on Zoom. That being said, don't feel guilty. My DC's therapist mostly goes over the same thing each week... who/what/why questions. That's about it. Fit those in as much as you can into your daily routine. If doing a zoom is going to cause more stress and aggravation, I wouldn't do it. Sanity is more important.

So if your child is getting services through the school district those are teletherapy only right now but please know you can still go through insurance and many agencies are still providing home care as it’s essential! My son is getting PT at home because he was developing a contracture and not a candidate for teletherapy. You will have to pay your deductible, copay et but it is an option. We are getting teletherapy behavior therapy now but might get an in person provider through insurance using another agency. I have the names of some agencies that are providing home care if you need. Yes, it’s a risk but we try to do our therapy outside and the provider wears a mask.
