Quality patio umbrellas?
Every year I buy one and spend $50-$70 and they are good for a season, maybe two, but they fade terribly. We are re-doing our backyard and I want to invest in good furniture, including patio umbrellas. Anyone know of a brand that doesn't fade quickly?

Quality patio umbrellas?
We purchased two umbrellas from Fortunoff when we bought our house 11 years ago - they're still good as new. They are sunbrella fabric.

Re: Quality patio umbrellas?
I cannot believe you posted this. I was going to come on today to post the same thing!!
Every single year we buy a patio umbrella from Bed Bath and Beyond and spend over $100 and it lasts half a season.
Just yesterday I was laying on my lounge chair and a small gust of wind snapped the umbrella pole and it fell on me! The metal that the pole is made of is so soft and thin that it just bent and snapped!
Every year. And we have 3 umbrellas in our yard so we are constantly replacing them. I'd be willing to spend more for something that lasts more than a season or even less than a season! It's ridiculous. Same with our beach umbrellas. Terrible quality.

Re: Quality patio umbrellas?
Good umbrellas are expensive..I have one I bought from Fortunoff years ago and I take it out only to use for the days I plan to sit outside in the yard, and when we wrap up, I fold it up..when it rains, I take it inside.
Here is one that seems to have good reviews:

When we bought our house, the owner left us an offset umbrella and I think that's the fabric that is as well now that you said the name. Its really old and did not fade.
I checked out the Frontgate. Thank you! It won't ship until 9/21! That's another problem I am running into. Everything is very back ordered.

It's all crap. I bought my current one at Ace on Memorial Day weekend - so what? 7 weeks-ish ago? And it's already faded! It has stripes on it that were beige and now they are a dark cream color

Re: Quality patio umbrellas?
While that seems pricey, when I add up all the $150 umbrellas that have broken in less than a season and had to be replaced, it's much more cost effective to go with something like this if it holds up. Same with our Weber grill. We never wanted to spend the money but we went through so many cheap grills and had to replace almost all their parts, that over time, the Weber actually works out cheaper.

Re: Quality patio umbrellas?
I was searching for a new patio umbrella a few weeks ago. Everything (along with most other outdoor items) are pretty much sold out (in store and online).
Let me know if you find one in stock.
