HEALTHY brownies

i am on the hunt for a GOOD healthy brownie recipe. i'm looking for ingredient substitutions that bring more nutrients and/or less sugar.

so far, i've tried two recipes. although, they were chocolaty, they were not what i would call "GOOD."

do any of you have a good healthy recipe that you'd like to share?

I don't know the recipe but I've had delicious black bean vegan brownies that I swear tasted like the real thing.

Re: HEALTHY brownies

Dh only eats clean.
No sugar at all - not even fruit.
No carbs other than from veges
Mostly organic- nothing processed.
No soy
Only stevia, monk fruit or erythritol when it comes to sweeteners
Every thing he puts in his mouth is researched to the hilt.
He uses this.
He says they taste good and if he eats them you best believe they are clean. LOL

Nell - I'd love to know what other pre-packaged food your DH eats. I had to completely change my eating habits since I got a cancer diagnosis (avoiding all sugar) and it's not easy!

OK here are a few of the snacks he eats.

Lily's Chocolate- actually they are now a full line of sugar free candy. Target and most supermarkets sell the chocolate bars, but if you have a Whole Foods near you they have a larger selection of treats- chocolate caramel balls, chocolate caramel popcorn snacks, etc. BJ's also sells a large bag of their peanut butter cups that he LOVES.

Another brand is ChocZero...check out what they have. Choczero

He eats an ice cream called Rebel. Stop and Shop sells it in pints and whole foods has it as well. It has no sugar
Halo Top also makes a keto version now which is be sugar free.

Quest protein bars, Quest Cookies and Quest also makes a nacho tortilla chip snack in individual bags that mimcs Doritos but is way cleaner.

Ratio is a brand that makes a granola bar that is grain free and 1 gram of sugar. (pretty much just nuts and cinnamon etc.) He got it in Costco or BJ's. I've tried it, it's drier than a normal granola bar but tastes good.

Then of course the standard sugar free snacks- nuts, cheeses etc- he snacks on a lot of that.

He also makes a lot of his own snacks- packaged is good for convenience but he does prefer to make it himself to control whats in it because he's insane. Chat Icon
He's also retired so he has a lot of time on his hands that most people don't.
He makes his own peanut butter cups, chocolate peanut butter bars, pecan brittle, single serve mug type cookies, pumpkin pie around he holidays, lemon cheesecake etc.
There are a lot of recipes, you tube channels and blogs out there for sugar free/keto lifestyle.

But i know you asked about pre-packaged so the one's I listed are his go to's

Let me know if you have any questions or anything- I live with a self made pro on sugar free eating. Chat Icon

Wow - thanks for the info! I'm still doing research on what's allowed since it's not just sugar that stimulated cancer cells - it's basically anything that turns into glucose (no pasta, white rice, etc). But this is a great starting point!

Yes he won't eat anything that gets used or stored by the body as sugar/glucose. So no carbs at all really.
So pretty much his diet- or something very similar is what they will probably have you on.
He follows a guy on you tube who had a brain tumor at 21 and is following this diet.

Good luck!
