Communion suits
Do people go all out with suits like they do for dresses? My boys are making their Communion in two weeks and I bought three piece navy suits off Amazon (I’m a practical gal ;) that are perfectly fine, with a cute vest and tie, but the material is a little Catholic school uniform if you know what I mean. I worry that everyone else will be decked out in Armani suits and we will look like trash are my fears founded? Should I splurge more? We are only allowed to have 8 guests and the whole thing just doesn’t feel like as big a deal as Communion usually is...

Re: Communion suits
Nah you are fine. I'm sure they look great. And anyway everyone is so busy staring at their own kid nobody will even notice. My son's one friend came in a seer sucker suit. He was memorable!

Honestly, it doesn’t matter. Kids look good because they’re kids. You can’t see any differences in clothes. I paid $30 for my daughter’s dress and everyone said she looked beautiful. I say a spend your money on more important things.

This. They will never wear it again and will only have it on a few hours. I think it's foolish to waste your money on something expensive. Same goes for dresses. I recently heard of someone who spent $1,000 on a Communion dress. I almost died. Put that money in a college fund or savings account for the child.

Communion suits
Communion was very different this year for our church. They did it in very small groups. We missed it due to vacation so we did ours at a Sunday mass. My son wore sneakers with his suit.
The pictures I saw of the group ones were tame compared to other years.

My sons both wore the same suit that I got at Target and looked great. As long as it's not wrinkly - it's fine!

Re: Communion suits
What you described will be just fine. My boys just received their confirmation a few weeks ago, which was postponed from May. I bought suits from Sears right before they closed and got a bargain (but will never wear them again Some kids did not even get all dressed up, which I was surprised.

Re: Communion suits
I agree withe everyone. They will be fine. Tbh they all look the same, I couldn't tell who went to Amazon vs. Nordstrom. In the pics and at church Navy blue is Navy blue.
I bought my son suit at Macys because I wanted him to have a different color and he's my only one so I sometimes get crazy with his outfits. But you really can't tell.
