where can I buy N95 masks?
I am not sure if I am getting one on Amazon that isn't a true one. Is there something I have to look for to make sure I am getting a true N95 mask vs a knock off? I want to get a few to use on the plane.

I’m pretty sure you can’t. They are only for medical professionals. I purchased kn95s on amazon. The ones that look kinda like a bird beak. They are thicker and more secure to the face then any other mask I’ve used.

You can try paint supply stores or Lowe’s. Some of them had stuff in stock this summer but no idea as numbers have recently gone up.

where can I buy N95 masks?
I work in a hospital and painters N95 masks are different from medical grade N95. I wouldn’t buy one from wherever. N95s come in different sizes and need to be fit tested to ensure you are wearing the correct size. If you buy one that is too big or too small it’s not going to protect you any better than a surgical mask.
Also due to covid medical grade N95 (from 3m) are not available to purchase to the public. KN95 masks are available readily on Amazon. The difference between a KN95 and N95 is the amount of particulate matter passing through. N95 masks offer a significantly greater level of protection
If you are flying there is no reason to wear an N95. If all passengers are required to wear a mask you will be ok.

Thank you. We thought we would try to wear both N95 with a regular mask. Now I can see it is not easy to get one. I am just worried since the numbers have gone up a bit and must fly, although we did fly in July and were very careful and did okay.

I don't know how true this is, but I saw something on the news this week that some studies were showing that flying is actually safer than shopping in a supermarket or eating in a restaurant. Apparently the filtration systems on airplanes are very good at filtering the virus. However don't quote me on that because I saw it in passing and not sure how scientific the study was etc. I just remember finding it interesting

I read this too. I also think I read to keep those air things above on. I did that when I flew in July. I have a situation where I must fly so trying to do this as safe as can be.
