Anyone interested in a Zoom GTG?
After I posted the pics of the 2007 GTG, I thought it might be nice to have a Zoom GTG. I have a paid Zoom account, so I an host it without the 40 minute time limit.
This is just the early planning/thought stages...
It's nice to put some faces to screen names. Zoom also allows people that are just out of driving distance (like CA or Germany ) to attend.
We've had Secret Santas before, but I don't want to be involved in organizing that. I would participate, but not run it.

Wouldn't that basically ruin the anonymity of the site?

TPTB for LIF ran several in-person parties in the early years. Children were invited to all of these get togethers.

Re: Anyone interested in a Zoom GTG?
Looking at the “no, not interested “ made me laugh. I wonder if posters that have been pretty aggressive with their comments chose that option

They did the same with LIWeddings posters.

Re: Anyone interested in a Zoom GTG?
I can host it for free without the 45 min limit.
ETA: thanks for the shout out to Germany. I’m quite busy with work ATM, but I have use of accounts that can do this. Let’s set a date. I’m a big calendar person. And I am not scary at all in person.

I was in one of their WOTY events and my DH won a laptop.

Back in the hey-day, they had a lot of really big prizes. They had prizes for post counts, too. There was a BBQ grill one time, and a necklace another time, I think.

I remember signing up and not realizing that it was going to be like an actual wedding, where you went to get fitted for a real bridesmaid dress etc. My husbands face when I was selected and had to explain to him what it was.
It was really nice and the dress was pretty. They were giving a bunch of nice prizes.. flat screen TVs.

I guess it depends on the person. I find it very, very hard to believe I would know anyone on here IRL.
