Biden: Americans who fear COVID-19 at work are entitled to jobless benefits
I think this is great. The people that are most in danger tend to be the people making the least amount of money.
_
Clip:
President Joe Biden is calling on the Department of Labor to make this clear: Workers are entitled to refuse employment that jeopardizes their health, without sacrificing unemployment benefits.
The issue is one that's played out differently state-by-state, with millions of Americans facing the choice of toiling at the front lines of a deadly pandemic or losing their ability to put food on the table.

I think that is why many of these companies have paid more during this time and are giving Covid bonuses out.

I think this is a great first step. Many lower paid workers have been forced to remain employed because they fear not being entitled to benefits and not having any safety net. It tends to be those jobs that are less "skilled" or require little education. Meanwhile, high wage jobs have enjoyed the luxury of working from home or being able to curtail public interaction and remain holed up in a private office. And many lower wage jobs have not come back. That is why it is a type of K shaped job recovery.
