Anyone know reasons for.....
Since so many of you have already had experiences with many doctors and have been to an re...even if it was not technically your problem..does anyone know the reasons why one would not get their period for so long?
I almost convinced myself that I have pcos but the more I look at the symptoms, I am thinking maybe I dont. I know there is thyroid problems...anything else? I dont think its stress with me because its been SOOOOOO long now. I was just wondering if maybe someone else has heard something different?

Re: Anyone know reasons for.....
Hmm...well you mentioned two main issues....also high prolactin levels can also cause menstruation to cease. I also believe.....perhaps ...very high fsh levels....
It seems to me the pcos, is usually what they label.....people who have difficulty with menstruating. Either they are having frequent...AF or AF never comes.
Estrogen could be dominating your system, or you may have too much testosterone...
Some things you can do, is check your temperatures...by charting...is your chart very 'hilly' ? Do you get a lot of ewcm often ? Have you had your glucose level checked ? Many times women are diagnosed with pcos, and don't even have cysts. Pcos is a syndrome.....that covers a wide variety of issues.
Now one thing that is very important.....if you are diagnosed with pcos, try to find out the 'cause".......what is causing you to NOT ovulate/menstruate......and I think that is what you are trying to figureout...sometimes changing diet.....can drastically influence your hormones.
There are some natural supplements you can take, that can actually, assist you, with your cycle....sometimes those supplements can help regulate your cycle....if you are opposed to the usual pcos treatment etc. which is....usually metformin/clomid or femara combo. Chromium, has helped many people with insulin resistance, and that's something you can purchase at gnc or cvs,...etc.
Sorry for rambling,....I hope maybe something I said was helpful. When dealing with the endocrine system, there is a lot of trial and error.....it's so complicated that it's hard to just come up with "one cause and to be able to fix it"
