Good question! I hope I’m wrong but this won’t stop at guidelines/recommendations. I really think there will be some type of system where u need to show proof of vaccination. If not for everything, def for certain things like from going to a concert, to flying. It seems that this is already happening in countries like Israel. Again, I really, really pray it doesn’t get to that point. Chat Icon

How can that be legal though with Hippa?

HIPAA prevents medical providers from giving out patient private health information without a signed release. Not sure if you are aware of this but every person will have a vaccination card that they will be able to show. So they will be providing their own personal information. HIPAA has nothing to do with it...

Exactly. You are free to share your own information with anyone you want to. HIPAA prevents covered medical providers from sharing protected health information that would identify a patient. If a venue requires proof, you have 2 choices - decide to share your info, or don't go to that place.

I highly doubt most places will require a vaccine as they know they will lose business but we never know. They are opening up venues now with no proof so hopefully that will continue.

Although my husband and son are going to the Islander game next week and they are required to have a negative PCR within 72 hours so you never know.

I am still not even close to being eligible for a vaccine nor is my husband. I am amazed that whole extended families are already almost fully vaccinated. Is everyone essential workers/teachers etc? Or does everyone in the world have comorbidities? I feel like nobody I know is vaccinated other than my parents because they are over 75.

My DH has an underlying health condition on the list. He is eligible for a vaccine, and has already had one shot. His immediate family is eligible due to age or work - and they have all already had one shot as well. I am not eligible - yet. I will be later this week.

Everyone is counting down to the day when we can have our weekly family dinner at the same table instead of Zoom.

I have autoimmune disease (graves) , some asthma and other chronic illnesses I’m not sure if any of that allows me to be eligible right now. But I also had covid and currently still have antibodies. I’m checking Again next month at my 90 day mark and if I don’t have them, I will look further into if I’m eligible yet. I feel that Waiting my turn is part of helping society even though I was terribly sick when I had Covid. I was able to recover without being hospitalized.

I don't think it matters. I am still going to wear a mask as it is my understanding that the vaccine may not be 100% effective

Nothing is 100% effective. You can get the vaccine and still get Covid. What the studies have shown is that NOT one single person who got the vaccine has died from Covid. That doesn't mean they weren't carriers of Covid who could pass it on to someone else. Asymptomatic transmission of this virus has been the biggest hurdle since day one.

Asthma makes you eligible. Some asthma doesn’t seem to be moderate asthma but moderate-severe asthma is one of the comorbidities. I was able to get the vaccine since I have moderate asthma.

Asthma makes you eligible. Some asthma doesn’t seem to be moderate asthma but moderate-severe asthma is one of the comorbidities. I was able to get the vaccine since I have moderate asthma.

Asthma is related to allergies so it’s not everyday advair type
So I’m not sure. I’ll have to check with my dr and go from there.
If I have to wait til may 1st when president Biden says all Americans should be able to get vaccine, I will. It’s not that much longer.
Just have to hope I don’t catch it again in the meantime. Because honestly - I don’t see me not ending up in the hospital my next round w Covid

ETA: I’m not sure if my new high BP makes me eligible (thanks to covid it’s been high ever since I recovered)

I answered the HIPAA questions twice on this thread. (And it's HIPAA not HIPPA).
