12 year old boy's birthday

Having a few boys over for my son's 12th. Probably about 10-12 boys.

It's Memorial weekend. We have a pool they can swim in, set up spike ball, soccer net, have a TV outside for video games and we have a basketball net in the front.

Trying to think of anything else to make it fun and different.
I was gonna have an ice cream truck come to break it up, but they quoted about $150 and any additional ice cream is $3 extra. I'm thinking it's a lot for 12 boys and he said it's also bc it's a holiday weekend.

I'll order pizzas, have individual chip bags, cupcakes, candy and even get a whole bunch of Good Humor ice cream bars too.

It's only about 3 hours and these are his closest friends who have all been over so many times too.

Honestly that sounds like enough.

My 11 yo would want to move in lol.

Skip the ice cream truck and let them play. It'll be fine.

i think what you are doing is great!!!

And that is crazy for the ice cream truck! is that your local person that comes around? If not reach out to them to see if they can just come by at a certain time by chance.

I know the one by parents house would never charge a price just to show and they may actually cut you a break on the price for getting so many!! that one also gives out his number so if we miss him we can call him and he will come by Chat Icon

i know he maybe overly nice but I would still reach out to your local ice cream person.

Re: 12 year old boy's birthday

Ok, thanks all!

I thought it was ridiculous. It is a local ice cream guy, but they're getting big and do more parties now. Then he said he'd do $100 for 30 servings. They don't need that much and that's a lot just for ice cream.
Oh, well... ice cream isn't necessary and plenty for the boys to do and eat. THanks!!

What about a game truck that comes to your house? My son and his best friend had this for a shared party. We split the cost between the two families as their birthdays are 4 days apart.

Re: 12 year old boy's birthday

sounds like a good time. and yes, the ice cream truck is crazy expensive.

i'm a memorial day weekend baby, too. it's always hard to have birthdays that weekend because so many people (usually) go away. glad your son will have his close friends around to have fun with.

now that i think of it, i need to plan something for myself Chat Icon

That's not a bad idea, but he's been to a few and was figuring since it's early in the summer they can swim too and rather them use the pool. WE'll turn the heat on for them too. LOL
