Companies can make employees take COVID-19 vaccine, EEOC says
I remember we discussed this here before and people said it would never happen. This surprised me.

Employers are allowed to require the COVID-19 vaccine, and can also legally provide incentives, including cash, to workers who get jabbed, according to updated guidance from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Companies must still provide reasonable accommodation for employees who are exempt from mandatory immunization under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
The commission also stated that employer incentives must not be "coercive," but stopped short of providing examples of illegal offers.
Some experts say there's enough legal gray area that a flurry of lawsuits could arise as companies start to bring their workers back to the physical workplace as the COVID-19 pandemic eases in the U.S.

Disgusting. And now OSHA says employers who mandate COVID vaccines will no longer be required to treat adverse reactions as “recordable injuries”, in other words work related injuries that would need to be covered under a worker comp. claim. They said they made this change in order to avoid “the appearance of discouraging workers” from getting the vaccine and also because they don’t want to “disincentivize employers’ vaccination efforts.”

I could see employers like hospitals or nursing homes mandate it because the f the populations they work with, but I think most other employers wouldn’t force it upon employees. I’m curious to see how most employers will handle mask requirements going forward. Will they relax the requirements for everyone? Require proof of vaccination to not have to wear masks? Provide mask and no mask guidelines, but base compliance on the honor system?

I could see employers like hospitals or nursing homes mandate it because the f the populations they work with, but I think most other employers wouldn’t force it upon employees. I’m curious to see how most employers will handle mask requirements going forward. Will they relax the requirements for everyone? Require proof of vaccination to not have to wear masks? Provide mask and no mask guidelines, but base compliance on the honor system?
One of my husbands cousins told us this weekend at his job that if you show proof of vaccination at his job you don’t have to wear a mask. He doesn’t plan to get the vaccine and is fine with wearing a mask he said. They offer the vaccine but do not pressure you to take it.

Same at my husband’s job. If you’ve had the vaccine, you don’t have to wear a mask. It should be the same if you’ve recovered from Covid, IMO.

I'm getting extremely depressed and feel I'm in prison. I need a routine back. We've actually lost a bunch of employees recently who found jobs at companies that are allowing people a choice to work in an office. I'm hoping that opens their eyes. The world is open again there is no reason we can't go to work if we so chose.

Yeah I don’t know the reason either as they said you can go back 100% now. Probably cheaper just to have us all at home. I am enjoying the nicer weather to sit by the window or outside on breaks and lunch.
