Me! But it isn’t a holiday here and my work day is finished.
We had holidays last week (Pentecost) and a holiday on Thursday (Corpus Christi), though.

Wow! You guys get all the Catholic holidays in Germany? How many holidays do you have per year?

No, not all. In my state (Bavaria) we get just Ascension Day, Pentecost, Corpus Christi, All Saints’ Day, and the Assumption of Mary. I *think* the whole country gets the first four; they definitely do not get the last one. This is in addition to Good Friday, Easter, and Easter Monday, which I know everyone gets.
The north of Germany gets Reformation Day on October 31st, the south does not. We got the 500th anniversary as a day off, but that was it. I live in a Catholic state.
Since there is a church tax (you can opt out if you aren’t religious), I would think people would be angry if they don’t get these days off. EVERYTHING is closed. Only stuff at train stations can stay open and some restaurants. It’s also like that every Sunday.

Interesting! Definitely different than in the U.S.
