NYC for a 10 year old boy
So thinking something different for my son's 10th bday. He is like me and loves Broadway shows. We've watched Hamilton way too many times. Although I don't think shows are open till Sept what is something to do or go see with him for his 10th bday in July? Thanks

The Vessel VR World The Nintendo Store Sometimes the broadway actors are in Times Square randomly singing and dancing, might be worth a walk through.

At that age my son loved the museum of natural history and the intrepid.

Also you might want to see if Ellen's Stardust Diner is open. That's fun for kids but especially if he likes broadway shows.

If he likes Broadway shows, what about checking Shakespeare in the park?
A relaxed plan could be to go to Governors Island... I don't know which activities will be open this year there.
As a PP mentioned, the vessel or visiting the new Little Island.
Something we enjoyed as a family when DS was around that age was riding the speedboat -the shark or the beast, don't remember the name . It was fun.

Governor's Island is nice, we have already been twice this year. Everything is open.
Little Island has some Broadway things under events on their web page
Museum of Ice Cream, Sloomoo maybe

He sounds like a cool kid. Love some of the other suggestions. I have heard that some cool stuff is being planned at and around Lincoln Center this summer.

Its really touristy but my son LOVED Ripleys Believe It Or Not and the National Geo Discovery in Times Square. We also went to Ninja NYC for dinner and that was really fun.

I have heard great things about Spyscape. It is an interactive spy museum. He would be the perfect age for this.
Also, walking the highline is fun if the weather is nice

We took my DD to Skyscape. She's 11. She really enjoyed it, but she's really into Spy stuff LOL. It's basically an interactive museum, where you learn about spies & their history and then some fun interactive stuff, like pretend interrogation, laser maze, surveillance. We were there about 2 hours.

A few years ago we took my bff daughter who was like 11 to the Metropolitan Museum of art, particularly the Egyptian exhibit. She loved it.

I wanted to add a fun activity to this! We went to Hudson River Park and did their free kayaking at the boathouse yesterday. If you are into kayaking, check it out. The park itself is also nice. Mini Golf (nice too!), playground, sprinkler park and lots of places to eat. Nice views of the Freedom Tower.
