What's a funny thing you believed when you were younger?
Is there anything that you were told or believed when you were younger that you found out was totally wrong later on?

I believed that if you ate watermelon or pickle seeds they would grow out of your belly button. Still don't eat seeds today... LOL

Re: What's a funny thing you believed when you were younger?
My mom told me that if I didn't listen, the "big noise truck" would come, take me away, and put me in a crib where I could only ever eat bananas. I was quite afraid of this.
I also believed that one of my carnival goldfish lived for two years and would tell everyone about it. Turns out, my dad was running to the pet store early in the morning on a regular basis.

Maybe not "funny", but my mom used to tell us that our dogs had to leave and go live on a farm (they had really died). I believed that for a long time until I was older and said "hey, wait a second..."

if you saw a shooting star and made a wish the wish would come true. Every night I looked at the stars to wish for my pony

I knew that my first dog died but I was told that she was buried at a cemetery in New Jersey. I now know that my parents would never pay for a pet burial. Deep down I still sort of believe in the story of the cemetery in New Jersey.

I thought that at a lake, the people across, on the other side, had the deep end.

Killing ants would make it rain. So be sure not to step on them if you wanted a sunny day.
