I'm a regular poster but this is embarassing and I didn't want to post under my regular name.

Was sex for any of you painful after you had your baby? It was somewhat painful for me before the baby and now it's even more painful.

It feels like there is sandpaper in "there". It's hard to explain but it is really painful.

I don't know what to do because I don't even have any interest in it since it hurts so much and I don't want to tell DH because I know it will upset him.

Any adice or any one been through this too?Chat Icon

I know that I always had plenty of lubricant before the baby and now it just doesn't happen as much. We sometimes use a lubricant just to get us started and then usually my body catches up. Definately try out some different lubricants. There is one called Slippery Stuff that you can get from Passions Party Consultants (I can give you the phone number if you FM me) and it is recommended by doctors to be one of the best lubricants if you have a problem with dryness.

Perefectly normal!!! That is how I felt for about 6 months after our son was born! Everything is a OK now!! Chat Icon

Hormonally, you body is probably not yet beck to normal, especially if you are breastfeeding. Also, you body is not producing any lubrication it normaly does because you have other things on you mind! Like a baby!Chat Icon

How old is your baby now?

This happened to me to. I tried around 7 or 8 weeks post partum and it just hurt to much so I made him stop and then we tried again at 11 weeks and we need some lub. but it was ok after that. I noticed that once I was relaxed and didnt think about it hurting which was after the first time I didn't need the lub anymore and if I initated it. In the beginning I didnt want anything to do with sex now 4 months later its 3-4 times a week Chat Icon and the last time we were like that was when we were dating. It will get better.

Im not sure if this is relevant, but that kind of pain is how I found out that I had a very bad latex allergy...if you know what I mean...just a thought!
