I want to go with my family, but don’t know where to start. There are so many choices of rooms and different buildings to choose from and I’m not sure which one would be best when traveling with children. Is the 3 meal plan worth it? I looked into staying this summer, but it was SUPER expensive.. any other months good to go there? TIAChat Icon

I've been every year since 1989. We go every year with my family on Labor Day weekend. Summer is always most expensive. We went this past December and it was super cheap with a Black Friday deal. We've also been in March when they usually run deals for kids free or half price.

As far as room choice, how big is your family?

I grew up going to Woodloch and we have been a few times when my kids were younger. We usually go in the winter - we did MLK weekend for a few years. We found staying in the building that were connected to the pool were best. Some of the other rooms are old and run down. To be honest, the rooms we stayed in were nothing special either. There's a lot to do in the winter, my kids always loved it!

For me the three meals was way too much. I think the last time we went we did the breakfast and dinner option. Otherwise you feel like you are eating alllll day long.

They do serve a lot of food, and sometimes it does feel like too much. They have a deli on site and our lunch came out to be the same $ if we opted for 3 meal. It's also convenient to just have to show up for lunch.

I would also opt to stay in a room in the same building as the pool. but we usually stay in the cooler months too. We've gone late summer & late Winter for the lower rates.

Lakeview suites are nice & roomy.

For a family of four I think you'd be comfortable anywhere. Greenbriar is nice because it's a little cheaper and it's close to the dining room/game rooms/nightclub. Springbrook rooms are great because they're close to the pool and a bit bigger, but also more expensive.

As for the meals, we used to do the three meal plan, but have gotten the two meal the past few visits and it's much better for us. The meals can be long and my kids hate sitting at the table. Plus we were so full we could barely move!

Re: Woodloch Resort

In my opinion, the two nicest buildings are mountain Laurel and spring brook by far. If you get a suite the mountain Laurel suites have kitchens and the Spring brook suites have two bathrooms. Both are the nicest rooms to stay in. I would do two meal plan. Three meal plan is way too much unless you just want to be eating all day. If you are starving there as the places on premises where you can grab food if needed.

If your kids are young and you don’t need to go on school breaks that is the best time to go. The summer, feb break and even Christmas break have become so expensive even for what you are getting it’s ridiculous in my opinion! The prices for days that are not school breaks are dramatically different - and I mean dramatically!

Overall though a wonderful vacation. Been there so so many times and always love it! Enjoy!!!
