Push back on Staying home? Almost 2 years later. You expect people to not push back on still staying home? Are you still staying home?
No, I'm not still staying home. I'm vaccinated and living my life while still taking common sense precautions - washing my hands, masking while in crowded indoor places, etc.
I'm talking about the people who push back on everything or most things.
For example, I know someone who is adamant about not being vaccinated but she is still minimizing going out and wearing a mask when she does. She is considerate of others and trying to stop the spread. No problem.
I'm talking about the people who don't want to do ANYTHING to make this better. No masks, no staying home, no vaccine, etc. There are a few people on here - I won't name them, they know who they are - but I am speaking in general. Those people sound so foolish. Grow up and at least try to be part of the solution.
I think many have reached the point of non compliance because there is no end point. It’s a constant moving goal post. We stopped our lives and made major sacrifices and it wasn’t good enough. We have been lied to more times than we can count. Two weeks is turning into two years. The percentage of vaccinated individuals to reach “normalcy” keeps moving or doesn’t count at this point. There is no end in sight and whatever we do isn’t good enough, so why bother?
They ask for an inch and take a foot and aren’t appreciative of what we gave. They caused it.

Re: All employers with 100+ must require vax or weekly tests
And what about costs to the employees? If you get the shot; it’s free (even though someone’s paying for it).
But weekly nasal tests. Who’s paying for that? Covered under insurance? Then our rates increase even more. Weekly Copays?
And how are they checking? Are results to be submitted online or is there going to be a designated employee responsible for gathering weekly test results? In addition to someones regular heavy workload of some over a 1000+ employees; I don’t know how well managed this will be?
So many questions.....

Testing or vaccine. Why do people have a problem being tested? He said the rapid antigen is acceptable and you can do it at home.
Meanwhile my Husband took one of those and it was false neg.....doctor said they are about 30% effective

That goes to show you how stupid and short sighted and not well thought out this whole thing was. Shocking.

This exactly. We went to 2 weeks to stop the spread to 2 years with no ends in sight and federal mandates. When does it end or does it?

Follow the money.
Whose making money on the vaccines? Whose making money on testing?
This is all about money at this point.
I’ve always thought there should be a ‘cure’ for cancer or more progress but it’s true….these companies make more money keeping people sick. Healthy people don’t make pharmaceutical companies money.
There will NEVER be a cure for cancer. There is TOO much money to keep people sick.
I have said over and over, follow the money.
Exactly, there probably is a cure, but think of how many doctors and pharmaceutical companies would go out of business.
Of course there is. They won't even try marijuana on many illnesses that have been proven to help. There is NO way they will ever find a cure for most things that generate a ton of money as sad as that sounds.

MrsA - I don’t want to quote because I know the boxes get too long. I somewhat agree with endemicity. I do think science is fluid and I can see where covid wipes people out and then becomes like a common cold one day. I know what you mean about the older people, but it’s still worrisome to me at least. I rather have older folks pass away from regular old age and not this horrible virus. Not saying you do, obviously, but it seems like such a brutal way to go.
Do you honestly think the majority of people just die from regular old age? I think that number is quite low and many if not most have some issue when they pass away.

Yeah nothing rapid is accurate really. The strep rapid was always negative for my DD and myself in the past. I know many that had flu rapid come out neg. Nothing is 100 percent, ever, unfortunately. The Binax ones are supposed to he like 80 percent, but who knows. Our district was using rapid antigen to test sports kids every week. My daughter had them done for cheer. A few kids actually tested positive during all that with the rapid though. And the rapid is accepted for travel back to the US

Welcome to the new Communist regime. Unless people start fighting back and not allow this to happen, this will be the first of many things US citizens will be forced into.

Oh for sure it's not 100%, I just could not believe it was that far off and only 30%. My Husband went next day to a walk in and rapid came back positive, PCR also.

Wondering how natural immunity from having had Covid play into this. Can you submit blood work showing you have antibodies still? If not, why not?

Hmmmm? Well Nassau county has now over 85 percent vaccinated and yesterday reported another spike in cases. If vaccines were the way to stop this we would be seeing a DECREASE in cases as we increase vaccination! It is nonsensical to me how anyone can support mandates in the face of the reality we are living!

So once everyone who can get vaccinated, then what? I am honestly asking, do we wait? Is there a plan for after? Once all are vaccinated and everyone wears masks around others, is it over? Maybe there’s a plan for that?

Yup! Honestly i am completely at a loss at what these mandates are supposed to be accomplishing. Meanwhile let’s all pray the next health crisis isn’t from 4 of these shots a year until vaccine injury is the next pandemic.
UK just cited a research study done that shows 12-15 year old boys are more likely to suffer from myocarditis or another serious adverse reaction than they are to be hospitalised for covid. That is why they aren’t vaccinating healthy 12-15 year olds yet in our country and states they are already beginning to force this vaccine!!!! Mandates are already here when it was only approved to even use three months ago!!!!! Please please tell me how anyone thinks this is OK!?! The madness has to stop before it is too late! You can’t undo give this to your child!

Totally willing to vaccinate myself once a year for this thing. Will wear a mask when it’s cold flu season when in crowded areas. This is what I am willing to do short term. That’s it.

Ditto. The vaccine isnt supposed to stop transmission, its supposed to limit severe illness. Look at hospitalization rates, they have dropped like a rock- 90% of the ICUs filled up are covid patients who are NOT vaccinated. I am aware I will likely be exposed to Covid, if I havent already. But because I was vaccinated, my chances of landing in the ICU are lower. Those of you who are obsessed with” freedumbs” need a f^#@*& reality check. 700K Americans dead in 1 year and counting, yet too damn selfish to want to do your part to end this thing. Reading some iof the ignorance on this board is kust

How much longer do you have with your vaccine? What happens then since you probably won’t be eligible for the booster? Will you be selfish because you won’t be covered anymore?

But if your vaccine is keeping you out of the hospital as it's designed, why do you care if all those ignorant unvaxed end up sick or hospitalized? If people want to gamble with their life let them. Get your readily available vaccine and boosters and protect yourself.
