Bassinet stroller

Not sure if this is the right board but I have a question about strollers.

Does anyone have a bassinet stroller? If so, which one did you choose. They are very expensive and would like feedback from people who have used them/are using them now.

TIA

Re: Bassinet stroller

Do you mean a pram?? The old-fashioned carriages?? They are gorgeous. Thats what my mom used for me. But for us it wasn't practical. Too big to store.

Re: Bassinet stroller

Yes, same concept but more modern and compact. Like Bugaboo, etc.

The Inglesina Zippy has an extra attachment that will turn the stroller into that type,,,,

Re: Bassinet stroller

My only issue with bassinet type strollers like an old fashioned pram/carriage (and correct me if I'm wrong) is that they pretty much are made for babies to be lying down -- and they hit the age very quickly where they like to sit up all the time, so I can't imagien how much use you'd get out of it.

Re: Bassinet stroller

My last name isn't bugaboo, but I rate the Bug VERY highly for pram with a bassinet...when Noah was born I used it for him to sleep in during the day time, now I mainly use it with the car seat attached and I take the bassinet bit with me when I think he might want to sleep or nap. In a few weeks I am going to change the bassinet into the stroller attachment.

I love the Bug and think its totally worth the money. I have travelled from England with my bug and its held up brilliantly!!!

Re: Bassinet stroller

Thank you ladies. The bugaboo is very expensive and I was trying to find something a bit more affordable.

I realize that the bassinet will only be used for a short amount of time but I am concerned with the spine.

You are not supposed to "sit" a baby right away or it could impair on his normal spine formation. It's not strong enough to hold that position. It is recommended to have them lay down for a few month when "transporting" them.

Re: Bassinet stroller

I have a pram that converts to a toddler sized stroller. Be careful if you buy a brand that isn't made in the U.S. Mine is from England, and since two of the wheels popped, I have searched high and low, and the U.S. doesn't have the right sizes, so it is virtually useless.

Re: Bassinet stroller

I have the venezia by peg perego that can act as a bassinet or as a sit up stroller...I used it for the first year and a half with the foot wrap-around piece on...great for walks outside in the winter :) I also like the fact that it has 3 back elevation choices...so it has the ability to lay flat.

Its not great with bumps in the sidewalk thought...

My mom has a pram from england (it is over 30 years old) that has 2 different attachments, one is the bassinet, the other is the toddler stroller...it is very big.

Re: Bassinet stroller

I wanted the exact one that was posted above, but when I saw it in person, it is HUGE and I realized that I probably wouldn't use it as much as I thought. So, I now want to look into getting the BumbleRide Queen B, which is a carriage as well as a stroller. It is not so big, and I have heard some great reviews.
