Ugh - I'm sorry! Hopefully it changes. Ours was 10 before (assuming the Covid positive person was in isolation...)

Who knows. They were lucky that she only works weekends so she could be home with the kids but I have NO clue what people who work all week do.

Yes I tested positive and my kids get 10 days from my test and then another 10 because they count my whole 10 days as them being exposed because I didn’t move out I guess…I didn’t eat with them and wore a mask at home because I didn’t want them to get sick but apparently there has to be no contact when the covid positive lives with you. They would have been better off catching it, then it would be 10 days??

I’m using my sick time for all of this…me being sick and now that I’m clear to go back but can’t it is still sick but family care since kids have to quarantine

Maybe it was just adopted. Just saw another post. I will research more!
But if they did that’s awesome I hope they just implement a test to stay in schools because I’d rather just show them a negative test to make it so my kid doesn’t have to quarantine at all.

Yup - Rockland County, all districts met with the County DOH today and adopted.
I definitely would rather no quarantine at all but this is a step in the right direction for those who are asymptomatic or have improving symptoms.
ETA - They are not adopting the test to stay in schools as they cannot do it based on the DOH guidelines. The tests would have to be done in school by qualified health professionals, and would need parental approval (and I'm sure other things). Test to stay would only allow them to attend schools as well - no sports or extracurriculars.

I believe NY has accepted it for general population…they were waiting on additional guidance regarding schools so that was still following previous guidelines, but it looks like cdc just added schools to 5 day quarantine today.

That’s great. Our daycare director said she spoke with Nassau county doh and they said they may be changing it. Lol but for now my 15 month old is on day 4.

The superintendents decided that they don’t have the capabilities to do the test to stay and I think the county is mad because they keep on posting on FB that schools need to adopt it. But getting the parental authorization and having the right people available to do the testing is their hesitation.
So many kids were excited to be sprung from quarantine early for the snow day.
