am i the only one? nervousness
when i am taking the steps to do something "adult" i get very nervous and anxious.
as i posted in the other thread, DS and i have started the process of buying a home.
every time i take a step forward (example: i just uploaded all our bank statements) i feel sick. i get a stomach ache, i get COLD, i shake.
it passes. i know that other people get nervous as they move towards an important goal, but do other people get THIS nervous and sick???
i feel like an imposter. i feel like a child and someone is going to figure out that i'm pretending to be an adult.

Re: am i the only one? nervousness
I do. It's definitely a combination of nerves, imposter syndrome, anxiety, stress. I need to manage mine with medication, but some days are super hard. We all have limits of what we can handle and some things push us too far.
Definitely look imposter syndrome if you haven't already.

Re: am i the only one? nervousness
No not really but only because I was forced to behave like an adult from a very young age. I bought my first house when I was 23.
I do find that the process of buying a home is always somewhat overwhelming as far as everything you need to know, the research, paperwork, etc. so just take a deep breath and know that you will get through it. It's also a huge investment so I can understand why it would be overwhelming. I find house hunting to be so fun but remember that if something doesn't work out it's because it was not meant to be and something better will come along. Do not get caught up in emotions and end up overpaying for something just because emotions are running high. Always take a step back and give yourself a day or two to think things over. Even when the market is this hot you can't lose sight of the fact that you don't want to end up with something that's not right for you.

I don’t, but ai too was forced to play therapist for my parents by age 13 and dealt with many complicated family matters as a young child.

Re: am i the only one? nervousness
A home is a big purchase, it's normal to feel nervous at first. As you get further into the process that nervousness turns to excitement, especially when you finally find a house you love.
