vacation help - Arizona

We are looking to go away Spring break. We have plans to go to Florida,but thinking we may want something different.

Anyone been to Arizona and can think of a nice, family resort that won't break the bank?
Want something relaxing, close to things to do and the place itself has a lot.
Maybe Sedona or Scottsdale. Open to anything.

I have been out to AZ and visited Sedona and Scottsdale. We did not get out in to Scottsdale as we were only there for a few days and didn't leave the resort we were staying on.
I did not like Sedona. It just rubbed me the wrong way.
I couple of years ago, we went to Colorado for spring break and had the best time! We stayed a couple days of Denver and then 5 days in Colorado Springs. There was so much to do. It was very family friendly because it was off season too.

We've been to Scottsdale and have stayed at the Westin Kierland. I like the Villas better for family travel but both of the resorts are fabulous.
