I am wondering what guarantee trump would have prevented any of this.

Everyone is quick to blame the President but I’m not. I blame most shit in congress and other factors and if trump was in office I would feel the same Way.

Was Biden my first choice nope but Trump had no business being president and he still doesnt.

So no I don’t live under a rock I just won’t blame everything happening on one person.

And you didn’t think our country was laughing stock when Trump was president???!!! Or you just a trump worshiper where he can shoot someone in the head for no reason and you would still vote for him??!!!

How about stop obsessing with just the president and worry about how congress conducts themselves.

And you may think I am sounding hypocritical but Trumps in ability to keep his mouth shut and act like grown adult was his biggest problem and down fall. He created so many unnecessary issues. And maybe it wasn’t a big deal to you but clearly it was to a majority of people.

I will also add I havent followed the whole Russia and Ukraine issue but how is this Bidens fault. And why is it never any other countries fault from trying prevent anything. Why does it alway feel like it solely on the US to be controlling all the worlds issues.
And again what guarantee is there that Trump would have stopped it??!!

I agree.

This stuff goes back to before Trump. There have been many surveys done that say that the rest of the world doesn’t trust Americans and how they vote and they have little faith in the US government since Trump was elected. I have been out of the US since W and I have seen it go back and forth since it started.

In short, most governments are ‘eh’ about Biden, but they are also ‘eh’ about the actual people who voted for Trump and not just Trump alone.

And inflation is everywhere. Biden doesn’t control the world. It’s a cycle and the US will not be a major power player like they were from 1945-1990 or so. The same populist shit is happening all over the world. The UK is a complete mess right now. And the people voted for it. They truly did not understand what they were voting for.

The Russia problem goes back before Trump, starting in the 2000s.

ETA: A war with Russia scares the hell out of me especially with the energy crisis we are having here. So spare me your sob stories of the border and war with Russia and America. You have no clue. Talk to me when you are are paying $8-10 a gallon in gas. Americans aren’t just in the US.

Perhaps redirect your question of “do you live under a rock?” to yourself. This is happening almost EVERYWHERE in the world.

You do realize before Trump was Biden too. What did he do then?

Was he? Wow, I had no idea! Learn something new every day.

Why would I answer when you start it with a “You do realize”?

Biden had a chance as a VP and didn't do anything then. Why would anyone think he would do something now?

You might want to go back and read what Biden did during the Financial crisis of 2008. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Our economy is thriving. Real GDP is showing strong consumption of goods and we have yet to see the move of dollars to service which will greatly impact our GDP positively. We have a tight labor market. CPI is about 2/3rd supply and demand and 1/3 housing and shelter. We are still consuming goods at the higher prices so the consumer has not capitulated yet.
The inflation we see is fast cash from monetary and fascial support and a huge appetite for goods.
Energy prices are falling in line with all of the above.

You come on here regurgitating stats you find online with no ability to provide analysis.

1. The recovery act was, in fact, widely debated. It was based on Keynesian principles that had long been abandoned.

Last I read inflation was around 9%. Nine. And yes, this is because Biden blew money into an economy during an artificial recession. Inflation impacts those with the least the most. We are headed for a period of stagflation that will impact this country years to come. To those who come on these board and and hand pick Economic Indicators to support their Leadership please read some basic classical economic theory. Seriously. Because y’all lack some real history and context and it shows.’Numbers can easily be manipulated to deceive the public.

You say I regurgitate facts I find online which is absurd. You have no idea what I do or what educational background I have. You have no idea the depth of my sources. What I shared above regarding the economy and economic outlook was not googled. I was there and I was in the meeting and I was speaking to the CFAs and the PMs of one of the largest investment houses in the world.

Your Forbes piece is opinion. I am sure I can google countering opinions. But, that is not the point, I did not say it was successfully or not. I pointed out that Biden didn't do nothing as VP.

That is so damn insulting. You are not the only one that can have an education and opinions that are valid.

Perhaps we are in a period leading up to stagflation. I don't discount that as a worry. But Biden is not the only administration that dumped cash in to the economy. Additionally, the recession was real although caused by non organic means and was the first recession we have had that was service lead as opposed to manufacturing lead. But it was a recession.

Ok-let’s look at your “tight labor market” comment. Is that true on face value? Sure. But WHY is it tight? Not because of actual job gains but because a record number of ppl are dropping out of the job market, thus making the number seem better than they are. I could go on but I have to return to work…

Ok-let’s look at your “tight labor market” comment. Is that true on face value? Sure. But WHY is it tight? Not because of actual job gains but because a record number of ppl are dropping out of the job market, thus making the number seem better than they are. I could go on but I have to return to work…

Tight labor market as unemployment rate vs labor demand. Sure, as workers drop off due to retirement or not benefits running out bring down unemployment if you looked at only that. But then you have labor demand. The demand for labor is rising as unemployment falls. Add in household debt with is declining and add in household net worth increasing. Even with the current 1Q2022 of the S&P touching in to correction and the NASDAQ in correction - does not diminish the totality of gains seen in 2021.
But I am interested in the economic indictors that you mentioned and how they indicate an economy that is worsening.

Household debt declining and hh net worth is tied to government doles-not organic growth and certainly not a rise in wages. Bankrupting future generations in order to line pockets of people who should have been/could have been back to work for months or longer is again, a manipulated statistic. We did not need the type of injection into the economy that will surely lead to stagflation. Because, despite what Pelosi and Biden said this was not “all paid for”.

What act are you referring to? The CARES Act? The American Rescue Plan? Build Back Better was the only bill that was said to be paid for with taxes and receivables.
I think the decrease in corporate tax rates add more to the deficient then the stimulus to individual tax payers.
I also have a hard time accepting that the stimulus paid to US citizens allowed them to pay down their debt while at the same time increasing their net worth.
Do you think our economic outlook would be better had the stimulus from the CARES Act and the ARP not been distributed?

Those first two bills were filled with so much pork you could make a delicious lo mein. No, I did not say the US didn’t need relief. We just overspent to a disgusting degree and framed it is as necessary. I’m not clear on your point regarding the corporate tax rates.
