The fact that Joey won’t tap into the US supply and we continue to buy from Russia is criminal. I don’t know what the end game is here - maybe to make people want electric cars.
I’m sure this has something to do with it. The big push to go electric
Except that didn't work so now we are beholden to other countries for oil. Worst part, my car takes premium.
And this is why I didn’t get the Audi truck I loved 3 years ago. As I was test driving it, I asked about the gas and they said premium - I started driving back to the dealership.

Funny thing is it's a Maxima. My husband has the Murano which is the same exact engine and takes regular. We asked the mechanic and he said it's because the Maxima is "sport tuned" so it requires premium.

I just spent 4.39/gal for plus. Yikes! But at least my car is good on gas, my husband has a pick up truck. Don’t even want to know wtf he is paying!!

You can google it for the full background and history of it, but the short definition is it's a euphemism for "f*ck Joe Biden"

Re: Have you seen gas prices?
It sucks!
I am really wondering what people feel the US President can really do that could actively affect the global energy markets? How much can the US draw down of their strategic reserves? The IEA is releasing reserves and that is only the 4th time since the oil crisis in the 70's. Globally, crude, brent, oil and gas has jumped.

Have you seen gas prices?
So I gassed up today at Costco and the lines were terrible. I paid 35 to fill up my tank. The guy in front of me paid $70. He was moaning and groaning in to me about Biden but overall everyone was pleasant. I think this is going to be very bad for things like door dash and instacart. I anticipate it will probably hit $5 a gallon locally. The economy is really going to take a hit. Between this and home prices and inflation I feel like I am living the twilight zone…

Big difference when you CAN use another name and when you can NOT. Seems you and others don’t know that.

I’d kill to pay $4 a gallon. I paid $10 a gallon the other day. Guess that’s Biden’s fault, too.
But Germany doesn't have a huge untapped source of oil. That's the difference.
Hopefully high gas prices will force us all the electric car route though.

I would like to understand this also.
Everyone blames the president all the time how is it the presidents fault??!! I really need and intelligent answer besides that you dislike the current president and he is incompetent.
Because with other past presidents I may have not liked them but I also just didn’t blindly blame them for every single problem!!

I think they want him to tap more of our resources here in the U.S. and the first thing he did was close the building of the pipeline.

The building of the Keystone EX was to bring Canadian Tar sands to Mexico of refinery for sale to Asia. It was not going to benefit the US at all. Additionally, the Keystone is still operational. After 4/2022, the 2 years is up with the deal with OPEC to lower production so that will help in increasing supply globally. Do you all know how much oil the US imports from Russia?

Yes I think they need to work on that first- the price of these electric cars are way too prohibitive right now for all Americans to just run out and buy them. Also things like how far they can run on a charge and building more charging stations. I often think about all the road trips we take in the summer and how far we go and how there really aren't any charging stations for electric cars

Right, I am hoping that all of this pushes car manufacturers to make electric cars both better and more affordable. We will see.
