Use parchment paper instead of aluminum foil ?
I always use foil in the oven and in the air fryer - then I saw on instagram (we all know the internet is always correct) that its bad to use foil and heat. They said it leaches into the food then you eat it and it can cause a whole bunch of problems, including brain issues.
WTF? I thought thats what foil is supposed to be used for - to cook things.
They said to use parchment paper instead of foil. But "paper" and high heat seems dangerous to me.
I cook using the air flyer and foil at least once a day, lol - so now I'm worried.
What do you all think? Is it a legit concern? Is parchment paper a better thing to use? even though its high heat.
Thank you

Parchment paper can withstand up to 425 degrees maybe even 450. It might burn/brown but it’s fine. Just don’t mistake it for wax prayer ??

I have no problem with foil, but I actually like the way foods cook on parchment better and food won't stick to it like it does with foil. My biggest concern is it does burn...catch on fire. I've had it happen a few times, so you have to keep it trimmed and watch it in a convection style toaster oven.

I mostly use parchment paper. Aluminum foil is worse than plastic wrap for the environment.
Just don’t use it under the broiler and you are fine.

It is a legit concern. It is true it leaches into the food so that’s a no-no for me. I use parchment paper without an issue, just make sure it’s unbleached. If You Care is a good brand.

We avoid using foil at all costs. And do use parchment if and when necessary.
A recipe last week making lasagna called for covering with foil. But we didnt. Still cooked just as delicious.
And we never use parchment or foil in air fryer. Its so easy to clean. I wouldnt feel comfortable doing it anyway.

I usually use parchment paper for just about everything in the oven except if I am broiling.

Ok, so aluminum is bad (I did buy parchment paper last week)
I just noticed my water bottle is made from Aluminum - is that bad? Should I not use it?
Thank you

Re: Use parchment paper instead of aluminum foil ?
I only use foil to line the bottom pan to catch the grease, the food is not being cooked on the foil. Someone above mentioned they like the way food tastes better on parchment paper. Maybe your air fryer is different?
