Trick for properly grilling chicken?
I suck at it! I always burn it or dry it or, as my DH puts it, I make chicken chips What's your tip for making perfect grilled chicken?

Trick for properly grilling chicken?
For chicken breast, I always slice each one in half lengthwise to make two thinner pieces and then marinate it for 4 or 5 hours. I preheat my grill on high and then turn it down closer to medium when I put the meat on. Grill for 5-6 minutes a side and let it rest a few minutes before serving. Also, my favorite grilled chicken dishes usually have a sauce to add to really make it flavorful.

Im not good at it either but DH is - he cuts them thinner (like the thin chicken breasts you would buy at the store for twice the price) so they cook quicker and more evenly.

Re: Trick for properly grilling chicken?
-Brine them (keeps them from drying out) -Grill on medium heat (I use a gas grill, so this is easier)
I don't cut them thin, just because I like the thicker texture, so I either pound them, so they are an even thickness or cut them crossways, so the thicker part is its own piece, and put those pieces on first.
If the outsides are getting very crispy & the middles aren't cooked you can try indirect heat. ( also easier on a gas grill) turn one burner off & move the chicken there. Leave the now empty burner on for the indirect heat.
Chicken breast & burgers, were the hardest for me to get right. I can make steaks, fish, pork tenderloin, all sorts of vegetables, but the basics were a struggle. lol.
good luck.

Re: Trick for properly grilling chicken?
I actually use my air fryer for all meats now. I havent used my grill in awhile. The air fryer makes chicken so moist. Just cook it slower at a lower temp.

A digital meat thermometer has been a game changer for me. I always worried i was under cooking it and ended up over cooking it. The thermometer takes the guess work out of it

Whole chicken i spatchcock it. (look it up). Cooks evenly that way. If cooking pieces like drumsticks and thighs, i pre boil them for like 8 minutes than finish them off on the grill while basting. I hate grilled chicken breast (too dry for me) so i have no advice with that. I like boneless chicken thighs instead. Those you can just throw on the grill.

This is how I do it too.

Same! I can grill anything very well - you give me an expensive steak and I will have that to steakhouse perfection - but grilled chicken is just a challenge! It's embarrassing actually! I actually really suck at making chicken cutlets in a frying pan too.

I have 3 that I use and they all give different temps. I don't know which one to believe. It's like an episode of To Tell The Truth when I use them.

LMAO! That's hysterical. It reminds me of the forehead thermometer I used to use on my daughter when she was young. Every swipe was different. I once tried it on myself and it read 72 degrees. I know I'm cold, but I'm not THAT cold !
